SALARY: Grade 1: R293 670 – R337 860 per annum

Grade 2: R358 626 – R409 275 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma/ Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery) that allows registration with the ‘South African Nursing Council’ (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Current registration with the SANC (2024) Experience Grade 1: None Experience Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.

Experience Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing Knowledge, Skills Training and Competencies Required: Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Possess communication skills for dealing with patients, supervisors and other members of the multidisciplinary team including the writing of reports when required. Good human relations displaying a concern for patients, promoting and advocating proper treatment and care including a willingness and awareness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations (Batho Pele). Demonstrate a basic understanding of HR and Financial policies and practices. Demonstrate basic computer literacy as a support tool to enhance service delivery. Ability to plan and organize own work, time and that of support personnel to Ensure proper nursing care in the unit.
