Job Purpose: The Critical Role of a CIT Driver
The Parow Branch in Cape Town has an immediate vacancy for a highly qualified, professional Cash-In-Transit (CIT) Driver.
As a CIT Driver, you are the operational backbone of the armored transport vehicle. Your primary mission is to transport your Crewman and Custodians safely, efficiently, and tactically to client sites for the secure collection and delivery of high-value cargo. You bear ultimate accountability for the physical safety of your crew, the vehicle, and millions of Rands in assets. This role demands rapid decision-making, defensive driving mastery, and absolute calm under immense pressure.
Detailed Job Specification & Key Responsibilities
Your duties as a CIT Driver go far beyond standard logistics. You are operating an armored tactical asset, requiring continuous vigilance and strict adherence to strict protocol:
1. Tactical Transport & Asset Accountability

Secure Asset Movement: Take full responsibility and absolute accountability for the secure transit, arrival, collection, and delivery of client currency and valuables.

Precision Logistics: Ensure precise adherence to designated transit routes, strict timelines, and delivery protocols, ensuring accurate proof of delivery and collection documentation is obtained.

Proactive Communications: Maintain uninterrupted, crystal-clear radio contact with the Fidelity control room/controllers at all times, providing live status updates.

Delay Reporting: Immediately report any route alterations, traffic anomalies, vehicle malfunctions, or operational delays to the Operations Manager.
2. Risk Mitigation & Incident Prevention

Threat Assessment: Continuous observation of surroundings to spot, evaluate, and take immediate preventive action against any suspicious activity, vehicles, or persons.

Incident Management: Execute emergency defensive driving maneuvers and protocol in the event of an attempted ambush, heist, or security breach.

Reporting & Compliance: Document and report all security incidents, vehicle accidents, near-misses, or mechanical issues with absolute accuracy.
3. Fleet Maintenance & Compliance Audits

Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct rigorous, daily pre-and-post-trip vehicle audits, completing comprehensive safety and mechanical checklists.

Asset Readiness: Ensure the armored vehicle is fully fueled, mechanically sound, clean, and that all onboard security and tracking systems are operational before departing the branch.
Minimum Job Requirements
To qualify for this elite role within Fidelity Cash Solutions, candidates must strictly meet the following criteria. Applications failing to meet these minimum statutory and regulatory requirements will not be processed:

Criminal Record: A completely clear criminal record is non-negotiable (comprehensive background verification and fingerprinting will be conducted).

PSIRA Registration: Must be fully registered and accredited with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) with a minimum Grade C qualification.

Specialized Certification: Must possess a valid, accredited Cash-In-Transit (CIT) Certificate.

Firearm Competency: Valid and current business-purpose firearm competency certification. Must possess a minimum Handgun for Business Purposes qualification (competency certificates for additional weapon types are highly advantageous).

Licensing: Valid South African Code C1 (minimum) driver’s license paired with a valid, clean Public Driving Permit (PDP).

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of active experience in the security industry, tactical logistics, or a highly similar specialized driving role. Prior experience within the Fidelity Services Group (FSG) ecosystem is highly advantageous.

Physical Status: High level of physical fitness, stamina, and visual acuity necessary to manage an armored vehicle under stressful conditions.
