Job Purpose

The Driver will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and delivery of parcels, packages, and courier items while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with company procedures.

Drivers play a critical role in maintaining RAM’s reputation for reliability and professionalism by ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and within specified timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates may be required to perform the following duties:

Delivery Operations

• Collect parcels and packages from designated collection points.
• Deliver parcels safely and efficiently to customers.
• Follow daily delivery schedules and routes.
• Ensure timely collection and delivery of shipments.
• Handle urgent and same-day deliveries when required.
• Verify delivery information before dispatch.

Customer Service

• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Build positive relationships with clients.
• Address customer queries professionally.
• Obtain proof of delivery signatures.
• Represent RAM professionally at all times.

Vehicle Management

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
• Ensure vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
• Report maintenance issues immediately.
• Monitor fuel usage and vehicle performance.
• Adhere to company vehicle policies.

Route Planning

• Plan efficient delivery routes.
• Utilize GPS and route management systems.
• Minimize delivery delays.
• Monitor traffic and road conditions.

Compliance and Safety

• Follow road traffic regulations.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety standards.
• Maintain safe driving practices.
• Protect customer parcels from loss or damage.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should possess the following:

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
• Valid South African Driver’s License.
• Clear criminal record.

Preferred Requirements
