About the Role
The Assistant Manager will support the Lodge Manager in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the lodge while maintaining the high hospitality standards that Wilderness is known for. The successful candidate will assist with staff management, guest services, food and beverage operations, administration, maintenance, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, you will:
- Assist with the daily operations of the lodge.
- Oversee guest activities, hosting, housekeeping, catering, and curio shop operations.
- Support stock control, banking, administration, and maintenance functions.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences that exceed expectations.
- Assist with implementing Wilderness environmental and social sustainability standards.
- Support payroll and HR administration processes.
- Help manage Food and Beverage operations.
- Participate in staff development, training, and succession planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee growth.
- Assist with disciplinary and counseling processes when required.
- Provide operational support to Lodge Managers and Area Managers.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates should have:
✔ 3–5 years of hospitality or lodge management experience
✔ Strong leadership and people management skills
✔ Experience managing Food and Beverage operations
✔ Financial, operational, and administrative management experience
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
✔ Valid driver’s license
✔ Passion for conservation and sustainable tourism
✔ Ability to work effectively in a remote wilderness environment
