Position: Teacher – Life Orientation
Location: Pinnacle College Ridge View
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher to join our team and lead the Life Orientation department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that promote personal development, career guidance, and overall well-being among students. The Teacher – Life Orientation will also play a key role in supporting students’ social and emotional development and providing guidance on important life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and deliver comprehensive Life Orientation curriculum that covers topics such as personal development, life skills, career guidance, health education, and social issues
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their values, beliefs, and goals
– Provide support and guidance to students in navigating challenges and making informed decisions related to personal relationships, mental health, and social issues
– Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive holistic support and resources
– Organize and facilitate workshops, guest speakers, and community outreach programs that enhance students’ understanding of various life skills and issues
– Stay informed on current trends and best practices in Life Orientation education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lesson plans
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
– Teaching certification
– Previous teaching experience in Life Orientation and other GET and FET subjects
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Passion for supporting students’ personal development and well-being
– Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans
– Knowledge of current issues and challenges facing students in today’s society
– Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture

Pinnacle College Ridge View is set to welcome its inaugural Grade 8 and Grade 9 classes in January 2025. As the eighth institution in the Pinnacle brand, PCRV will see its first Grade 12 students sit for the IEB exams in 2028. Joining the founding staff of PCRV is a rare and exceptional opportunity. Interviews will be conducted in late July and throughout August.
