The Projects and Maintenance Manager will be a supportive role to the Head of the Projects and Maintenance Department, to manage the retail, mobile, foundation and commercial managers within the department. Oversee administrators and coordinators. The ideal candidate will oversee the management of all site improvements, building alternations, new builds, design and floor planning, planning submissions and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling of projects reports, project capex, capital expenditure forecasts and expenditure reports.

You Bring:


  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
  • 8 Years Construction and Project Management Experience
  • 8 Years in Team Management Experience
  • Planning and Design skills

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

  • Manage the retail, mobile, foundation and commercial managers within the department.
  • Oversee administrators and coordinators.
  • Management of standard building practices, project management, processes and procedures for site improvements, building alterations and new builds.
  • Manage all planning submissions and applications for the Group.
  • Manage quantity surveying, tender processes and reviewing of all capex, capital expenditure forecast and quotations. Manage national specifications.
  • Oversee all ongoing and proposed alteration and new builds.
  • Assists with identifying sites for new branches within scope, according to customer type and profile of our retail business nationally
  • Project manage the retail branch expansions for new business / branch relocations/ branch and building renovations nationally
  • Manage a team of construction professionals (Interior designers, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, project consultants and engineers) to create floorplans and branch layouts for approval and implementation, taking into account customer and product requirements and needs to maximize the brand and profitability
  • Consider cost/profitability factors during this process
  • Work closely with the operations and design team to scope branch branding requirements, fittings requirements and new concepts for branches in terms of flow as well as look and feel
  • Implement sound project management principles to ensure that branch adheres to operational requirements and is in the required operational condition within set timeframes for trading. Ensure proper planning, forecasting and scoping to determine magnitude of functions and resource, time, cost allocations
  • Hands on management of building contractors (plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning, etc.) and close liaison with landlords
  • Overseeing of CSI and Foundation projects (Repairs, Alternations and new builds)
  • Responsible for branch closures to ensure branch is in required conditions upon exit in terms of requirements from landlords and also removal of fittings where applicable
  • Working with Health and Safety to ensure all construction compliance certificates are up to date
  • Compile reports and capital expenditure for head of department.
  • Oversee the retail and maintenance master plans and weekly/monthly reporting.
