Job Description
Title: Sports Coordinator / Extra Mural programme coordinator
Location: Pinnacle College Ridge View
The Sports Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sports activities within the organization. This includes managing sports programs, organizing events and competitions, and providing support to athletes and coaches. Coaching of sport will also be required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement sports programs and activities that cater to the needs and interests of participants.
2. Coordinate and manage sports events, competitions, and tournaments.
3. Administration and coordination of the sports programme
4. Provide guidance and support to athletes, coaches, and team managers.
5. Clear communication to all stakeholders
6. Manage budgets and resources effectively to maximize participation and achieve goals.
7. Collaborate with other departments to promote sports and physical activity within the organization.
8. Evaluate the success of sports programs and make recommendations for improvements.
9. Maintain accurate records and reports of sports activities and outcomes.
10. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in the sports industry.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation, physical education, or related field. or
– A Teaching degree and teaching experience in the FET phase.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in sports coordination or administration.
– SACE registration
– Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
– Knowledge of various sports and athletic programs.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
The Sports Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within the organization. The successful candidate will have a passion for sports, a commitment to excellence, and a desire to inspire others to achieve their full potential in athletics.
Pinnacle College Ridge View is set to welcome its inaugural Grade 8 and Grade 9 classes in January 2025. As the eighth institution in the Pinnacle brand, PCRV will see its first Grade 12 students sit for the IEB exams in 2028. Joining the founding staff of PCRV is a rare and exceptional opportunity. The school will have an indoor sports center that will cater for indoor/ action hockey and will offer soccer, netball, tennis, athletics, basketball and swimming. Interviews will be conducted in late July and throughout August.
