Job Purpose
To manage the IT Hardware Asset Management function with an emphasis on warehousing in a large organization. The role encompasses all phases of the Hardware Asset Management lifecycle, i.e. the allocation, provision, logistics/reverse logistics, storage and disposal of IT hardware assets.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, their locations, ownership, status, and usage
- Coordinate with stakeholders to optimize IT asset allocation
- Generate stock level reports to inform stock replenishment
- Enable recommendations of system hardware and software tuning through the gathering of performance statistics from the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) platforms.
- Conduct audits, reviews, and identify trends of IT asset management processes and practices
- Execute duties in line with the GRV process and ensurethat orders and goods received match
- Identify and address the root cause of escalations, ensuring zero repeat of similar issues
- Execute the disposal, transfer, and scrapping of assets as per policy
- Support technology decisions by maintaining awareness of existing and emerging software and hardware solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies by preparing and maintaining operational documentation
- Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with the team and stakeholders.
- Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced, and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
- Management of IT Hardware assets in a warehouse environment, including oversight of logistics and reverse logistics of IT orders in a fast-paced environment
- Mitigate and guard against risks in relation to IT hardware assets.
- Implementation of initiatives to create new revenue streams
- Perform Vendor Management with multiple vendors
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Essential Certifications
- Completed CHAMP certification (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional)
- A+ certification or similar
Minimum Experience Level
- 5 years of exposure to IT environments (Banking exposure advantageous)
- 5 years of exposure to ITSM tools, i.e. Service Now working experience
- 5 years of Warehousing experience related to IT hardware assets
- Proven ability and experience to manage IT Hardware Assets in a large organization, including policy and procedures
- Attention to detail is a must
