Job Description:

  • Escalate a serious and unresolved customer complaint to the manager
  • Provide a high level of customer care and service

  • Manage stock levels according to Dis-Chem procedures – report on short, damaged and expired stock tothe  manager
  • Ensure merchandising and displays are set up attractively

Job Description:

  •  Customers at the cosmetic till point are your first priority to ensure efficient transactions takes place
  • If there are no customers to attend to at the cosmetic till points you need to assist with merchandising of cosmetic products
  • Escalate serious and unresolved customer complaints to manager

  • Exchange merchandise for customers and accept return goods by customers when authorized to do so
  • Transact all purchases – receive and processes all payments such as cash, cards, vouchers, coupons and other payments excepted by Dis-Chem
  • Answer questions regarding the store beauty merchandise when asked
  • Process all loyalty cards including those of our accelerator partners (Discovery health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards and E-Bucks)
  • When there are no customers to attend to at the cosmetic till point, assist with merchandising duties:
  • Ensure that a high standard of cleanliness, merchandising and displays are maintained in both the window area and throughout the store
  • Ensure that displays are present in an attractive manner
  • Ensure that all goods are correctly priced and labeled
  • Adhere to stock layout principles
  • Ensure that merchandising displays in cosmetics area are faced up and stocked
  • Ensure that the right shelf price takers are displayed
  • Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to Dis-Chem standard operating procedures
  • Be alert and verify all payments according to Dis-Chem verification procedure
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem security policies and procedures
  • Ensure the use of your code and password is restricted to only you, is safe and is changed regularly
  • Ensure all out going stock/ items are scanned and paid for
  • Ensure that all money is strictly kept safely and securely inside the till
  • Handle daily takings confidentially and only discuss it with management
  • Be alert, recognize and report suspicious behaviour to management
  • Keep all your daily takings (cash, cheques, vouchers, card slips, line voids and incomplete dockets) inside the till drawer until you place them in the drop safe
  • Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ branch in Raslouw has an opportunity available for a qualified Hair Stylist to provide a range of hair care services, including shampooing, cutting, coloring, styling and blow-drying as well as ensure salon product inventory is sufficient.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hairdressing
  • Previous Hair Stylist experience
  • Knowledge of the chemical composition and properties of the substances used and the chemical processes the substances may undergo (i.e. understanding chemical reactions, production techniques and disposal methods).

Job Description:

  • Analyse clients’ hair, facial features and needs to determine beauty treatments and advise clients on hair care needs.
  • Trim, cut and shave hair, beards, mustaches and sideburns using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
  • Create hairstyles for formal events.
  • Adhere to the proper application procedures when using curlers, hot irons, curling irons, hair colour, dye, and tint.
  • Ensure accurate application of scalp massage techniques when washing a client’s hair.
  • Attend supplier training and meetings as scheduled by management and Head Office.
  • Learn and perfect new hairstyles and techniques.
  • Keep up to date with the latest hair and beauty trends in the industry.
  • Greet and attend to clients walking into the salon and communicate with clients via email and telephone when needed.
  • Ensure clients that are waiting are happy and comfortable by giving them a magazine and/ or refreshments.
  • Give clients advice and product information about the hair care products the salon has on offer.
  • Demonstrate and sell styling products to clients.
  • Promote services and promotions such as bleaching, conditioning, treatments, permanent waving, straightening and tinting of hair in the salon.
  • General salon administration such as maintenance and management of the appointment calendar and client records.
  • Perform reception duties such as answering telephone calls and making appointments.
  • Conduct regular stock takes of salon stock, report low stock levels as well as damaged and expired stock to management.
  • Escalate all unresolved customer compliments and complaints to management.
