Job Description
Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations, in collaboration with the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a bursary opportunity. This initiative offers bursaries to five (5) students for full-time study at accredited South African universities and universities of technology.
The available fields of study include:
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting / Economics / Law / Human Resources / Business Management
- Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration / Journalism / Communication / Industrial and Organisational Psychology
- Bachelor of Social Science / Social Work
- Bachelor of Education
- BSc in Actuarial Science
- BSc in Engineering / Geology / Quantity Surveying / Agriculture / Architecture / Computer Science
- Bachelor of Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Nursing
- MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)
- Town and Regional Planning
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens, as per the South African Citizenship Act No. 88 of 1995, and must reside within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality.
- Matriculants must meet the minimum requirements specified.
- Students must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
- Applicants must currently be in Matric, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study.
- Applicants should not have another bursary or student loan.
- Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged and financially needy students.
Academic Requirements:
- Grade 12 academic achievements with both Mathematics and Physical Science at level 5 (C) or above for fields in the sciences.
- A 60% average in Grade 12 academic achievements for other fields of study.
- No bursaries will be awarded to students who are not promoted to the next year level of study.
- Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups (historically disadvantaged).
Required Documentation:
- Proof of acceptance by the university for the 2025 year of study.
- Certified copy of ID document.
- An affidavit confirming certified copies of parent’s proof of income, social grant, or pension.
- Certified copy of Grade 12 results.
- Certified copy of full academic record (for students currently studying at a university or university of technology).
- Proof of admission from the tertiary institution (university or university of technology).
- Proof of residence.
