Job Description
Role purpose:
Overall responsibility for all TowerCo Base Transmission Station (BTS) Security Field Operational (SecFieldOps) requirements relating to the enforcement of security-related policies, standard operating procedures, and regulations of all field site-related activities, this includes the training of security staff, conducting of investigations, and delivering tactical and special field operational requirements. This position is designed to be both a proactive preventative engagement allowing for early threat identification and security risk mitigation and a reactive site security improvement solution relating to response planning to minimize site-related security risks.
Your responsibilities will include:
Security Field Operations Management
Support all security field operations and maintenance requirements, and improve security investigations and asset recovery ratios, this includes all site guards and security escorts (guard and armed response requirements), security incident management, and defining all site security maintenance requirements.
Thought Leader
Trusted and respected as a thought leader and change agent who can influence and persuade business and TowerCo Leadership Team.
Including people management, team effectiveness, people development, and employee engagement.
Supplier/Contract Management
Develop governance structures to monitor, evaluate and manage supplier, contractors, and 3rd party performance (SLA/KPI) against their contracted scope of work and benchmark best practices.
Financial Management & Reporting
Formulate and manage the security field operations CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Including developing dashboards to enable management visibility.
Compliance Management
Responsible for the TowerCo preparation for ISO compliance and certification.

Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
A 3-year relevant qualification in the professional security industry is essential.
Minimum of 8- 10 years of security field operations staff management, including experience in investigations and asset recovery, must have practical experience in dealing with the South African Police Services (SAPS), enabling the successful prosecution and arrest requirements.
3-5 years of leadership experience is essential.
Familiarity with security training programs. health and safety management experience within the Telecommunications infrastructure field.
Practical working knowledge of local and international standards and best practices relating to security management.
Strong communications skills including interpersonal skills, presentation skills, stakeholder management, and management reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex technical concepts into simple terms, with strong persuasion skills to gain support for principles, standards, and change.
Excellent relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that enable the provision of effective support and guidance across programs.
Proven track record on key outputs/disciplines.
Organization Skills (Keeping investigations thorough, on schedule, and by established procedures, and maintaining site security standards that will satisfy regulatory requirements).
