Company Description:
  • Coordinates the seamless delivery of work from the MD’s office.  This includes preparing or providing input to board packs, reports, presentations, decision support material communications or other deliverables from the MD to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitates the MD’s engagement with and messaging to intern al and external stakeholders, working with members of the Managed Operations EXCO and the ManCo team.  These may include events and interactions with employees, leaders, shareholders, board members, customers, governments, the media, civil society representatives, communities, and industry bodies.
  • Engages with all teams to ensure adequate briefing and preparation for all MD meetings, internally and externally.
  • Acts as Secretary to the De Beers Managed Operations Executive (EXCO). This includes managing the agenda for the meetings, collating EXCO packs, documenting meeting minutes and follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Supports and, in some cases, leads the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives that are sponsored by (or require input from) the MD’s office.
  • Facilitates team effectiveness of the De Beers Managed Operations ExCo through active management of the flow of information between members of the team.
  • Helps to shape the work of the MD and the wider EXCO by proactively providing future-focused inputs that anticipate and respond to business challenges and opportunities across the DB Group.
  • Partners closely with De Beers T&S team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the Managed Operations programme of work.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A tertiary level/ postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Business/ Commerce, Finance, Management or a Technical discipline)
  • A demonstrated track record of achievement in roles featuring technical work, projects and stakeholder engagement at a similar level of complexity

Knowledge & Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of the De Beers Group upstream business, including the commercial, operational, safety, people, technology and innovation levers for value creation within the organization.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Digital acumen and technological literacy (incl. but not limited to MS Office/ collaboration tools).
  • Strong project coordination, planning and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical capability.

Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to support and contribute to the work of the De Beers Group, Managed Operations Managing Director in delivering the business objectives of the De Beers Group.
