This position reports to the Division Manager.

Takealot.com has got the contract for the fulfilment of one of South Africa’s universities’ distance learning programmes and needs someone up for the challenge to manage this project. The university provides modules & text book requirements and student particulars. With this the Takealot team jumps in and does the rest. The Project Lead needs to guide and manage all information between the university, the Takealot retail team who orders the stock and the fulfilment team who handles the deliveries as well as the following:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handle all communication to and from the University
  • Ensure that invoices are submitted and paid
  • Manage the project credit
  • Troubleshoot queries, failed deliveries etc
  • Manage international deliveries
  • Stock management and provide buy-in suggestions to buying team
  • Give regulate detailed feedback to Division manager and rest of team
  • Assist and guide fulfilment team

Attributes required:

  • Solutions-oriented, can-do attitude; self-motivated
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking, ability to use data to inform decisions, identify the root cause and resolve problem
  • Strong product and buying planning skills
  • Ability to manage priorities according to clear prioritization and structured planning
  • Comfortable with change and excellent team player
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Adaptable and eager to learn to new systems
  • Build reports

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Problem solving/root cause analysis
  • People management
  • Retail buying/e-commerce experience preferable but not an absolute requirement
  • Project experience preferable but not an absolute requirement
