purpose

The purpose of a Technical Structurer is to design and structure complex derivatives and financial instruments by keeping abreast of developments in the financial markets and related financial instruments, legislation, and statutory requirements. This particular role will involve pricing and executing deals, producing MTM reports, and responding to clients MTM queries, while at the same time learning the skills required to become a Technical Structurer from other members in the team

experience and qualifications

  • Required Qualification
  • Minimum Post-graduate Qualification in an Actuarial/Mathematical/Quantitative Finance degree
  • Advanced Mathematics in Finance degrees are advantageous
  • CFA / FRM / Trading and Regulatory exams are advantageous
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Deep knowledge of the financial instrument and derivative pricing mathematics
  • Good understanding of financial markets (what products and how they trade) and ability to execute trades
  • Good understanding and ability to price the desk’s current product set
  • Good understanding of pricing, booking, trading, and MTM systems
  • Ability to design solutions for clients that take advantage of current market trends
  • Ability to take a new product through an approval process
