Job Description

Hollywoodbets have exciting opportunities available for Tote Clerks to be based at the Dukwahs Branch in Newholmes, Pietermaritzburg. The position will be responsible for managing the operations of the branch in terms of taking guest bets, increasing stakes, managing cash, guest services and compliance.

Advantageous:

  • 1-2 years in Gaming Industry.

 

Key responsibilities:

Branch Growth

  • Ensure betting boards are updated timeously.
  • Updating of memos, card changes, results and scratching which occur throughout the day.
  • Be knowledgeable on all game rules, odd and pay-out

Sales Administration

  • Manage cash within your drawer according to defined processes/procedures and minimize risks, Theft/fraud.
  • Ensure guests FICA by providing their relevant documents (certified I.D copy, proof of residence, bank statement, not older than 3 months)

Cash Management

  • Team members are to ensure they have the accurate float amounts at the beginning of shift to ensure balancing occurs at end of day.
  • Interim checks must be done within the course of the day with the team leader on duty.
  • Ensure all cash shortages are deal with immediately, shortage value from R300.00 and below, must be paid back into the Hollywood taking on the same day by the team member.
  • All over bank and under money values must be declared to the team leader on duty
  • Ensure to reconcile by end of shift to the balance which is reflected on the Tote/ Admin report.
  • Ensure to confirm balancing of all taking to the Team leaders and double count cash to reconcile.
  • Close off the handing over of the cash to the Team leader by inserting your password on the system and the TL will confirm the transaction by inserting their password to validate all taking has balance at end of day.
  • Team members to ensure no company funds are taken home but handed to the team leader before end of their shift.

Branch Appearance

  • Ensure that the branch is always neat and tidy according to Hollywood standards.
  • Ensure that your workstation is well maintained and in good working condition.
  • Comply with all procedures to prevent losses to the organization, advising your branch /senior team leaders promptly of any problems/malfunction with the terminals /equipment/resources (e.g. TV display of results, Off-line)

Guest Service

  • Ensure to provide good guest service by being friendly, helpful, polite and courteous at all times.
  • Proactively address guest complaints and ensure guest feedback is positive.
  • Build strong relationships with regular guests.
  • Create a guest-centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile” at all times.

 

Compliance

  • Compliance and adherence to the company’s internal control policy.
  • Compliance with the code of ethics and escalate fraudulent activities.
  • Team members to ensure they are dressed in their correct Hollywood uniform when on duty.
  • Credit bets are not allowed to be taken by any team member.
  • Team members on duty are not allowed to take bets within Hollywood uniforms.
  • Team members are allowed to take bets as guests but not in Hollywood uniform.
  • Team members are not allowed to be behind the terminal counters when off duty
  • Team members on duty are not allowed to utilize the Limited pay-out machine.

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent communication and Guest Orientation skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of betting procedures and types.
  • Good understanding of financial and analytics.
  • Manage income and pay-outs by following the company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Show accountability for work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
