Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):
• Grade 12 or N3 with Maths & Science plus NQF 5 National Diploma in Power Plant Process Control Operations
OR
• NQF 6 Occupational Certificate Fossil Power Plant Process Controller

Experience:
• 4 years’ experience (2 years as Plant Operator and 2 years as Senior Plant Operator Units)

Skills and Competencies

• Power plant controller
• Computer literacy
• Fossil fuel fired regulations (Authorization)
• Communication

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant under normal and emergency conditions
• Monitor unit process
• Maintain correct unit conditions during start up, controlled shutdown and normal operations
• Perform administrative activities
• Control plant defect notifications
• Assist with the development of staff
• Perform any other legitimate activity as required
