About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of company documentation, merchandise and equipment to internal and external customers. The role also involves transporting employees to regional offices when required, maintaining accurate delivery records and ensuring compliance with company, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver company documentation, equipment, merchandise and other items as required.
- Collect company mail from the post office and deliver it to the relevant office.
- Transport employees to regional offices when required.
- Read and follow daily delivery and collection instructions.
- Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook, including delivery and collection tracking numbers.
- Maintain the company message book and ensure messages are communicated accurately and timeously.
- Conduct basic vehicle checks and identify/report vehicle faults or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure company vehicles are operated safely and responsibly.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Provide professional and courteous service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
Requirements
- Matric / Senior Certificate.
- Valid South African Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Public Driver Permit (PDP).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience, preferably in an office/corporate Driver capacity.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems.
- Basic knowledge of motor vehicle fault finding and vehicle checks.
- Good verbal communication and listening skills.
- Good planning and scheduling abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer-focused with a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing delivery/collection requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 2–3+ years of experience in an office, corporate or company Driver environment.
- Experience transporting employees and dealing directly with internal and external customers.
- Experience maintaining vehicle logbooks, message books and delivery/collection records.
- Previous experience handling confidential documentation, equipment or petty cash.
- Strong experience using GPS and planning efficient routes.
- Practical experience with basic vehicle fault identification.
- Previous exposure to Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Experience working in a structured corporate or professional services environment.
